Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned European leaders that Russia is preparing to escalate its war. He said recent airspace violations show Moscow’s growing aggression could spread beyond Ukraine.
Speaking at a summit in Copenhagen, where almost 50 European countries gathered, Zelensky pointed to drone flights over Denmark, Estonia, and Poland. He explained that these actions show Russia is testing Europe’s defences and is ready to increase pressure.
According to Zelensky, Russia “still feels bold enough to escalate this war.” He reminded leaders that Moscow’s ambitions go beyond Ukraine. If Russia is not stopped, he said, other European countries could face the same threats.
Zelensky offered Ukraine’s battlefield experience to help Europe prepare stronger defences. He proposed closer cooperation in areas such as drone defence, intelligence sharing, and technology. The idea of building a “drone wall” to block aerial threats entering Europe is also under discussion.
He stressed that the war is not just about Ukraine but about Europe’s security as a whole. “It was never just about Ukraine. Russia has always aimed to break the West and Europe,” he said.
European leaders are now considering new ways to strengthen their security. Plans include tighter airspace defence, faster intelligence exchange, and freezing more Russian assets. Some countries also raised concerns about drone incursions near their borders.
The message from Zelensky was clear: Europe must act together to prevent Russia from expanding the conflict. Strong unity and preparation, he said, are the only ways to stop future escalation.
