A Pakistani delegation, led by former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, has reportedly refused to sign immediate release documents presented by Israeli authorities. The delegation was among those detained after participating in the Global Flotilla for Gaza, a humanitarian mission aimed at delivering aid to Palestinians under blockade.
According to reports, the delegation stood firm on its stance, refusing to accept any conditional release or acknowledgment of Israeli jurisdiction. Mushtaq Ahmed Khan emphasized that their mission was peaceful and purely humanitarian, stating that no volunteer had violated any law.
The Pakistani teamβs refusal was based on principles of sovereignty and solidarity with Gaza, asserting that signing any document issued by Israeli authorities would imply recognition of illegal occupation. The delegation demanded unconditional release and international acknowledgment of their right to participate in humanitarian efforts.
Observers note that the incident has drawn attention to Israelβs handling of the flotilla participants, who came from multiple countries, including Malaysia, Turkey, and Pakistan. The flotilla carried medical aid, food, and relief goods for civilians affected by the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
Pakistanβs Foreign Office is said to be monitoring the situation closely and coordinating with international partners to ensure the safe and respectful return of its nationals. The move by the delegation has been praised by activists and civil groups in Pakistan, who see it as a bold stand against injustice and occupation.
As the situation develops, global humanitarian organizations are calling for the immediate and unconditional release of all detained volunteers and the safe delivery of aid to Gaza.
