Rawalpindi ATC Blocks Aleema Khan’s ID Card and Passport for Skipping Hearings

RAWALPINDI – An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi has directed authorities to block the national ID card and passport of Aleema Khan, the sister of PTI founder Imran Khan. The decision came after Aleema Khan failed to appear in court despite several arrest warrants.

During the hearing of the case related to the November 26 protests, ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah expressed disappointment over her continuous absence. The judge remarked that although Aleema Khan was seen attending events at other places, she repeatedly ignored the court’s summons. The court noted that four non-bailable arrest warrants had already been issued against her.

The court also ordered the confiscation of Aleema Khan’s surety bonds, further intensifying the legal challenges she faces. This move indicates the court’s growing frustration over her non-compliance with the ongoing legal proceedings.

The case involves 11 individuals accused of participating in violent demonstrations during the November 26 protests. Aleema Khan is among those charged with offenses linked to the unrest. The protests, which took place across various parts of the country, led to several arrests and investigations under anti-terrorism laws.

Authorities have shown increasing impatience over Aleema Khan’s failure to cooperate with the judicial process. The ATC’s latest order to block her identification documents is seen as a strict measure aimed at compelling her to appear before the court.
