The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle in Islamabad has arrested the main suspect in a major fake admissions scandal linked to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). The case involves fraudulent admissions under the foreign quota. Raids are underway to arrest the remaining suspects involved in the scheme.
According to investigators, PMDC employee Saddam Hussain, along with his brother Khair Muhammad, Pir Zulfiqar, and Abid Khan, misused their official positions. The group allegedly promised students medical college admissions under the foreign quota in return for hefty payments.
The FIA revealed that the suspects collected more than Rs40 million through cash and bank transfers. They are accused of using the names of senior PMDC officials to make the scheme appear genuine and gain the trust of applicants and their families.
After completing a detailed inquiry, the FIA registered a case against all four suspects. They face serious charges, including misuse of authority, fraud, cheating, corruption, and abetment. The charges have been filed under Sections 109, 409, 420, and 161 of the Pakistan Penal Code, along with relevant provisions of the Anti-Corruption Act.
Officials said the investigation aims to identify all individuals involved in the network and recover the money collected from victims. Raids are ongoing in different locations to apprehend the remaining members of the group.
The FIA has warned citizens to stay cautious and avoid dealing with unauthorized agents or individuals claiming to offer medical college admissions under the foreign quota. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to rooting out corruption and ensuring transparency within the education and health sectors.
