QUETTA โ Authorities in Balochistan have announced the suspension of all Passenger Bus Services across the province for three days due to worsening security conditions and ongoing law-and-order concerns.
According to an official notification, the suspension will remain in effect from November 12 to November 14. Officials said the move aims to ensure the safety of passengers and prevent any untoward incidents during this period of heightened tension.
The decision affects thousands of commuters who rely daily on Passenger Bus Services for travel within and outside the province. Regional transport authorities have been instructed to strictly enforce the suspension, and violators will face legal action.
Authorities have also warned bus operators against defying the order, emphasizing that public safety is the top priority. Citizens are urged to stay updated through official channels and avoid unnecessary travel during this period.
In addition to the temporary halt, buses and minibuses operating on inter-provincial routes are now restricted to daylight travel only. Nighttime operations have been banned indefinitely due to increased security threats and recent violent incidents in different parts of Balochistan.
Officials cited the rising number of attacks by insurgent groups such as the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) as one of the key reasons for the decision. These militant outfits have previously targeted bus convoys, trains, and other transport infrastructure, causing fear among travelers.
By suspending Passenger Bus Services, the provincial government aims to protect lives, restrict militant movement, and stabilize the situation. However, the move has caused significant inconvenience for travelers, with many forced to delay or cancel their plans.
