The long-awaited 2024 Lexus GX SUV has arrived, complete with rugged off-road appearance and even tougher Overtrail upgrades.
The company will first offer its off-road luxury SUV as a gasoline-only model, with a hybrid version following shortly after.
Koji Tsukasaki, the Lexus GX’s head engineer said that the luxury brand has included all-electric capability into the GA-F platform that supports the new 2024 GX

Tsukasaki continued, “Electrification beyond a conventional HEV setup was always in the cards for the GX.” Lexus also hinted that a plug-in hybrid model might be the first to come. Tsukasaki stated, “You’re going to start seeing different technologies [such as] plug-in hybrids also going into battery EVs.” We’re big supporters of electric off-roading, so this is great news for the developing market of rugged EVs.
