A mother was jailed after she threw her three-year-old daughter from the second-floor balcony of their Dakahlia, Egypt, home due to her frequent wailing and screaming.
The fall caused catastrophic injuries to the young girl, Makkah Ahmad, including fractures and a deep wound to her head.

She is being treated to Al Sinbellawain Hospital, where her severe condition is being constantly followed.
Initially mistaken for an accident, doctors feared something was wrong and notified authorities. Further examination revealed the frightening truth about Makkah’s state.
According to her sister, the 22-year-old divorced mother purposefully flung her daughter off the balcony because she couldn’t bear the child’s constant weeping.
Following the event, the Public Prosecution ordered the mother’s detention for four days in order to thoroughly examine the attempted murder case.
Surprisingly, this is not the mother’s first run-in with the law. She had previously been accused of inappropriate behaviour and corruption.
