Imran Khan Called By Court For GHQ Attack

Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister and founder of the PTI, faces legal proceedings as he has been summoned by an anti-terrorism court in relation to the attack on General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi that occurred on May 9, 2023. The Anti-Terrorism Court Rawalpindi, under the supervision of Judge Malik Ijaz Asif, is overseeing the legal proceedings against Khan, who is specifically accused in all cases related to the May 9 vandalism. He has been directed to appear in court on January 9 to address the charges.

In connection to the GHQ attack case, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the second in line to Imran Khan, had previously been taken into custody by Punjab police after his release from Adiala Jail. The charges against Khan include his alleged involvement in the May 9 violence, prompting the initiation of a probe by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT).
