The press conference became heated when a journalist alleged that Karachi had taken away Lahore’s status as the central city for the film industry. The journalist claimed that Karachi-based artists refuse to work in Lahore and decline scripts from Lahore-based filmmakers. Hayat was also accused of ignoring and quoting higher prices to Lahore-based filmmakers to avoid working with them. In response, she jokingly commented that she charges a lot from Karachi-based producers as well.

Remaining calm and composed, the actor clarified that there is no bias in the hearts of Karachi-based artists towards Lahore. She expressed her willingness to work in a Punjabi film but stated that she had not received any offers yet. As an artist, Hayat emphasized her commitment to doing good work in the field, regardless of its origin.

Hayat further explained that while her management is in Los Angeles, she personally reads all her emails and is aware of any Lahore-based projects. She emphasized that a good script is her priority as an artist. If the story and character are compelling, and she has talented collaborators like director Nadeem Baig and co-star Humayun Saeed, it becomes an easy decision for her. She also mentioned her openness to experimentation as long as it is worthwhile.

The actor concluded by stating that she has always been experimental and enjoys working with new people. If there is a good script with a suitable character and a willingness to experiment, she is eager to be a part of it. Ultimately, it’s the script that matters, not the location.

“Teri Meri Kahaniyaan” features a star-studded cast, including Mehwish Hayat, Nadeem Baig, Wahaj Ali, Zahid Ahmed, Amna Ilyas, Sheheryar Munawar, Ramsha Khan, Hira, and Mani. The film is set to be released on Eid al-Adha and is a collaborative effort by renowned Pakistani storytellers Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, Vasay Chaudhry, Ali Abbas Naqvi, and Basit Naqvi.
