The Balochistan government has started a massive tree plantation campaign under CM’s Green Vision, led by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. The initiative aims to transform the province’s barren mountains into lush green landscapes.
In the first phase, 4,000 saplings were planted on mountain slopes. To ensure survival, water tanks, pipelines, and drip irrigation systems were installed. These measures are designed to overcome water scarcity in the region and support sustainable growth.
The second phase of the drive, carried out between July 15 and August 15, saw more than 8,000 saplings planted on Quetta’s famous Sleeping Beauty Mountain. The plantation activity drew wide attention as part of efforts to increase green cover in urban surroundings.
According to government officials, the next stage will focus on Hanna West Mountain. Around 49 acres will be used for planting fruit-bearing trees through a public-private partnership. This model will not only boost greenery but also generate income opportunities for local communities.
The provincial government emphasized that CM’s Green Vision is a long-term strategy to address climate change and restore biodiversity. By planting trees in both urban and rural areas, authorities hope to tackle rising temperatures, improve air quality, and reduce environmental degradation.
The campaign reflects a broader commitment to creating a greener and healthier environment in Balochistan. Officials added that public participation will be key to the success of the program, encouraging citizens to support plantation drives in their own areas.
Through CM’s Green Vision, Balochistan is taking concrete steps toward sustainable development, aiming to protect natural resources for future generations.
