Social media influencer Naila Raja has addressed the swirling rumors linking her to former cricketer Imad Wasim, calling the allegations “baseless” and “misleading.” The controversy emerged after online speculation suggested that Imad’s alleged affair had caused a rift with his wife, Sania Ashfaq.
Tensions escalated when Sania posted a cryptic message announcing the birth of their third child, Zayan, without mentioning Imad Wasim. The omission triggered widespread assumptions of marital trouble, especially after users noticed she had removed his name and photos from her Instagram profile.
Fueling the speculation, a blurry video began circulating, allegedly showing Imad Wasim walking in London with a woman. Some claimed the woman was Naila Raja, further intensifying public interest and online criticism.
Naila responded through an Instagram story, saying:
“I usually don’t respond to rumours, but this has gone too far. That video was taken out of context.”
She clarified that the footage was zoomed in to hide the presence of other people with them at the time. She also explained that the Instagram story showing Imad Wasim was public and harmless.
Speaking against the online backlash, she criticized moral policing and the invasion of her privacy. Naila expressed frustration over abusive messages sent to her and her family, particularly her brother, who was being told to “control” her.
“Why is honour always tied to a woman’s behavior?” she questioned.
“We judge without context just to feel morally superior. This is exactly why honour-based violence still exists.”
As of now, Imad Wasim has not issued any public statement regarding the situation. However, online criticism against him continues to grow, especially in light of his wife’s emotionally charged post.
This isn’t the first time Imad has faced such allegations. In the past, he was accused of involvement with an Afghan woman — a claim that also spread widely online.
