Pakistan Railways has made an announcement regarding a 5 percent increase in all freight rates, effective from 12 AM on September 2, 2023.
This increase will be applicable across all goods traffic, with the total freight charges rounded off as usual. It’s important to note that this rate hike will not be applicable to Cargo Express 501Up / 502 Dn and 503-Up/504-Dn.

To ensure compliance with this decision, traffic inspectors and other relevant officials have been instructed to oversee strict adherence to these instructions at all railway stations.
Additionally, a revised goods rates table, indicating the calculated rate per ton for distances up to 5,000 kilometers, is currently in the process of being prepared. Copies of this table will be distributed to all stations that are open for goods traffic booking through the Divisional Superintendents.
