A suicide attack on a check post in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, led to the martyrdom of 12 security personnel, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported. The tragic incident occurred in the MaliKhel area on November 19, 2024.
The attackers, identified as Khwarij, targeted a joint check post, with a vehicle carrying explosives crashing into the perimeter wall. The powerful blast caused extensive damage and led to the collapse of the wall, killing 10 security forces members and two Frontier Constabulary personnel. Several others sustained injuries during the attack.

In retaliation, security forces engaged the assailants, killing six terrorists on the spot. A sanitisation operation was launched to hunt down any remaining attackers in the area, ISPR added. The military reaffirmed its resolve to combat terrorism and hold those responsible accountable.
President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed their condolences, acknowledging the sacrifices of the brave soldiers. They reiterated their commitment to eliminating terrorism from the region.
This incident follows another attack on November 14 in Balochistan’s Harnai district, where two security personnel, including Major Muhammad Haseeb, embraced martyrdom while combating terrorists.
