RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed 12 Indian-sponsored terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Kalat district, Balochistan.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the operation in a statement issued on Friday.
According to ISPR, the operation was conducted on September 2, 2026. Security forces launched the action after receiving intelligence about the presence of militants.
The militants were reportedly affiliated with the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Hindustan. Security forces tracked their hideout before launching the operation.
The hideout was identified and closely monitored by the forces. A prompt operation was then carried out against the militants.
As a result, all 12 terrorists present at the hideout were killed. Security forces also destroyed a significant cache of weapons and ammunition.
Improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were also recovered and destroyed during the operation. The action was conducted as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts.
ISPR said sanitisation operations were continuing in the surrounding area. The purpose is to locate and eliminate any remaining militants.
The military’s media wing said security forces remain committed to combating terrorism. It added that operations against foreign-sponsored militant networks will continue.
The statement also highlighted the ongoing counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”. The campaign involves security forces and law enforcement agencies.
According to ISPR, the campaign aims to eliminate the threat of foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan. Authorities have intensified operations against militant groups in Balochistan.
The Kalat operation follows another intelligence-based action in Washuk district. Two terrorists were killed during that operation earlier this week.
Security sources said the Washuk operation was conducted in the Palantak area. The operation targeted militants linked with Fitna al-Hindustan.
The two militants were allegedly involved in attacks on the Mashkhel Police Station. They were also linked to an attack on the Customs House, according to security sources.
Their vehicle was destroyed during the operation. Security personnel also recovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition.
Sources said the recovered material was intended for targeted attacks against civilians. It was also allegedly meant for further terrorist activities in Balochistan.
The latest operation in Kalat reflects continued security efforts across Balochistan. Authorities are conducting further searches to prevent militant activity.
