Ali Madad Jatak Appointed New Home Minister of Balochistan

MPA Ali Madad Jatak has been appointed as the new home minister of Balochistan, marking a major change in the provincial cabinet. The decision ends a two-year period in which the key portfolio was held by the chief minister.

According to official sources, Ali Madad Jatak was formally given charge of the home ministry. He took oath in Quetta during a ceremony attended by senior government officials. Balochistan Governor Jafar Mandokhel administered the oath.

The ceremony was also attended by Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, provincial ministers, members of the assembly, and senior bureaucrats. Officials said the appointment is expected to strengthen administrative control and improve coordination among law enforcement agencies.

For the past two years, the home ministry remained under the direct control of the chief minister. The transfer of this important role is seen as an effort to ensure better focus on internal security and policing matters in the province.

As home minister, Ali Madad Jatak will oversee law and order, internal security, and police operations across Balochistan. His appointment comes at a critical time, as the province continues to face serious security challenges.

Security situation remains tense
The new home minister takes office during ongoing counterterrorism operations. Over the past three days, security forces have carried out large-scale actions against terrorist groups in different areas.

According to security sources, 22 more terrorists were killed overnight during operations. This brings the total number of terrorists eliminated in recent actions to 177.

Officials said the operations targeted militants linked to Fitnaul Hindustan across several districts. Intelligence agencies, police, and security forces are working together to track down facilitators and supporters.

Earlier, multiple terrorist attacks were foiled in cities including Quetta, Gwadar, Panjgur, Mastung, Noshki, Dalbandin, Kharan, Tump, and Pasni. Dozens of militants, including suicide bombers, were killed during these actions.

Authorities believe the appointment of a dedicated home minister will help improve security coordination. Analysts say the new leadership may bring faster decision-making and stronger oversight of law enforcement.
