Punjab Begins Land Distribution Under Apna Khet Apna Rozgar Scheme

Punjab Begins Land Distribution Under Apna Khet Apna Rozgar Scheme

The Punjab government has started distributing agricultural land under the Apna Khet Apna Rozgar initiative. The scheme aims to support farming and create livelihood opportunities in Cholistan.

According to the Bahawalpur commissioner, 83,000 acres have been reserved for the program. This is the largest land allocation made under the initiative so far.

More than 16,000 eligible families are expected to benefit from the scheme. Each selected family will receive a five-acre agricultural plot. The land will help families develop sustainable sources of income through farming.

The distribution process began with a formal launch ceremony in Cholistan. During the event, officials handed allotment letters to 25 successful applicants. The letters officially confirmed their selection under the government program.

The Cholistan Development Authority received a large number of applications for the scheme. A total of 52,158 applications were submitted by interested families. Officials later completed a verification process for the applicants.

Following verification, 27,647 applications were approved. The government will now distribute land among eligible applicants according to the scheme’s criteria.

The first phase will focus on 10,290 eligible families from Cholistan. These families will receive agricultural land to begin cultivation and develop farming activities.

The Punjab government is also providing financial support to help beneficiaries use the allocated land. The Agriculture Department will work with the provincial government to provide assistance worth Rs4.25 billion.

Under the financial support package, each beneficiary will receive Rs50,000 per acre. The amount will help families prepare their land for cultivation. It will also support initial farming activities and other related expenses.

The Apna Khet Apna Rozgar initiative is designed to connect land distribution with employment opportunities. The government expects the program to help families generate income through agriculture.

The initiative also aims to promote agricultural activity across Cholistan. Providing land along with financial assistance could help beneficiaries start farming without facing the full initial costs.

Officials are implementing the scheme in phases. Further allocations are expected after the completion of the required verification and distribution procedures.
