Recent measurements of the air quality index (AQI) reveal that Rawalpindi is experiencing better air quality compared to Lahore.
The Environmental Protection Agency’s monitoring stations recorded an AQI of 60 in Shamsabad and 81 in Shalley Valley, Rawalpindi.

In contrast, AQI readings in Lahore were 115 at Punjab University’s Quaid-i-Azam Campus and 97 at Lahore Town Hall.
Ongoing monitoring will prioritize regions with elevated pollution levels, and individuals are advised to wear masks when outdoors.
