Constitutional rights not available at social media: Maryam Aurangzeb

Marriyum Aurangzeb, the Federal Information Minister, has stated that constitutional rights are not available on social media platforms such as Twitter, rallies, and meetings, and has urged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to provide evidence and take their claims to the court and police station.

The remarks were made in response to PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s allegations. According to Aurangzeb, the constitution and law only recognise legal rights, and every citizen has the right to protect those rights, but they must be supported by evidence.

Marriyum Aurangzeb also chastised Imran Khan for making unfounded claims like “35 punctures,” “10 billion,” “cypher,” and “American conspiracy.” She challenged him to provide evidence for these claims and to go to court about them.

False accusations and spreading slander, according to the federal minister, are neither legal nor constitutional rights.

She urged accountability and adherence to the rule of law.
