The attack occurred as DSP Ali Raza was leaving a friend’s place in Karachi. Two assailants on motorcycles opened fire indiscriminately as he exited his bulletproof vehicle, then fled the scene.

Sustaining critical injuries, Raza was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, neck, and head. Despite the recovery of a bullet, his family declined a complete post-mortem examination.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah expressed deep sorrow and condemnation of the attack. He paid tribute to Raza’s service and extended condolences to his family, directing the Inspector General of Police to initiate a thorough investigation and submit a detailed report.
