Former Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, has seen a substantial 85 percent increase in his wealth over the past five years, as revealed in the asset details submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). The financial declarations indicate that Shah’s assets now total more than Rs. 351 million, with a disclosed bank balance of approximately Rs. 243.5 million during the financial year 2022.
According to the submitted details, Murad Ali Shah spent around 200 days abroad in the last three years, incurring expenses of Rs. 8 million on private visits to various countries, including the UK, Switzerland, US, Canada, China, UAE, and KSA.

The breakdown of Shah’s financial assets over the years shows a consistent increase – from Rs. 187 million in 2017 to Rs. 351 million in 2022, with a significant jump. In the previous year, he gifted assets worth Rs. 105 million to family members. The declared assets include a diverse range, such as plots, shops, shopping centers, ice factories, cotton factories, plotting schemes, cinemas, flour mills, textile mills, and other factories.
Murad Ali Shah’s vehicle collection comprises over a dozen luxury vehicles, including models like Civic, Revo, Vigo, Land Cruiser, and Honda Civics, alongside various tractors and machinery. He reported paying Rs. 3.3 million in tax in 2022, along with Rs. 8 million as agricultural tax. The documents also highlight his wife’s ownership of 100 tolas of gold valued at millions.
Furthermore, the former CM owns a house in DHA, Karachi, worth Rs. 11.5 million, and two plots in DHA, Karachi, valued at Rs. 30 million under his daughter’s name. The disclosed tax payments indicate a consistent increase over the years, reflecting Murad Ali Shah’s financial standing and contributions.
