Government to Construct Arshad Nadeem Stadium in Mian Channu

The Director General of Sports Punjab, Pervez Iqbal, announced plans to build a state-of-the-art stadium in Mian Channu, the hometown of Arshad Nadeem, who recently won a gold medal at the Paris Olympics.

The celebrated Olympic champion is dedicated to advancing sports development across Pakistan, and alongside his sponsorship deals and accolades, he will be honored with a stadium named after him.

During a meeting between DG Sports Punjab and Nadeem, they celebrated his historic achievement in the javelin throw at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he delivered a record-breaking performance. Iqbal praised Nadeem as “the true hero and role model of Pakistan,” highlighting the national pride his success has generated.

The discussion also covered future plans to nurture athletic talent in the province, along with upcoming initiatives by the Sports Board Punjab aimed at enhancing sports development in the area. The construction of the Arshad Nadeem Stadium marks a significant advancement for sports in the region, providing athletes with a modern facility for training and competition, thereby fostering a culture of sporting excellence in Punjab.

Earlier this year, Nadeem made history with his record-breaking javelin throw at the Paris Olympics, securing a coveted gold medal for Pakistan after many years.
