Hajj 2025: Banks to Stay Open on Weekend to Receive Applications

Hajj 2025 Banks to Stay Open on Weekend to Receive Applications

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has directed 15 designated banks nationwide to keep their branches open on Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1, 2024. This move aims to facilitate the submission of Hajj 2025 applications, allowing pilgrims to submit their forms and payments before the December 3 deadline. The branches will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to accommodate the process.

This decision follows a request from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony to ensure that intending pilgrims can complete their submissions on time. In addition, the government recently announced a Rs 14,000 reduction in airfare for Hajj 2025, lowering the cost to Rs 220,000 from last year’s Rs 234,000. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Saudi Airlines, and private carriers have agreed to the reduced fare.

Applicants were required to submit an initial payment of Rs 2 lakh along with their application, with the remaining Rs 4 lakh due within 10 days of the draw, scheduled for December 6. The process gained momentum with 4,000 applications submitted on November 27 alone, ahead of the December 3 deadline.
