Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur have reportedly fled Islamabad and reached Khyber Pakhtunkhwa amid a police operation targeting PTI protesters.

The crackdown, which began late Tuesday night near Islamabad’s Blue Area, saw the two last reportedly seen near Kulsoom Plaza. PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram assured that both Bibi and Gandapur are safe in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but did not disclose his sources.

While some unverified reports claim their safety in KP, Maryam Riaz Watto, Bushra Bibi’s sister, raised concerns about her whereabouts, suggesting she may have been “kidnapped,” as the family had not heard from her since the security forces allegedly fired on PTI protestors’ vehicles.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed efforts to apprehend the two PTI figures but did not provide further details on the operation. He also commended law enforcement agencies for their successful handling of the PTI protest at D-Chowk in Islamabad, thanking the Rangers, Army, and local police forces for their role in repelling the protesters and restoring order.

During his visit, Naqvi praised the authorities for clearing D-Chowk and surrounding areas, directing the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to clean the streets and remove obstacles. He also assessed the damage caused by the unrest.

Meanwhile, PTI announced the cancellation of its Islamabad protest, with plans to announce the next course of action after a meeting with party leaders. PTI condemned the violent crackdown, stating that peaceful protesters were fired upon, resulting in many injuries.
