Local authorities have condemned the attack, emphasizing the persistent challenges in securing education for girls in the region. They are working to assess the full extent of the damage and plan for the school’s repair.
A thorough investigation has been launched by the police to identify and apprehend those responsible for the explosion. Security measures in the area have been increased to prevent further incidents, and community leaders are cooperating with law enforcement to maintain peace and stability.
Former Member of the National Assembly (MNA) from North Waziristan, Mohsin Dawar, also commented on the incident on his X account. He stated, “The Government Girls Middle School in Zeraki, North Waziristan, was blown up by militants last night. NDM’s Bilal highlights the situation. The forces that banned girls’ education in Afghanistan are spreading their darkness in our areas. The state remains complicit in the destruction.”
Dawar’s remarks underscore the broader regional issue of threats to girls’ education, drawing parallels with the situation in Afghanistan.
