The City Traffic Police Lahore has announced new timings for all licensing offices across the city. The decision aims to improve public service and reduce overcrowding at testing and facilitation centers.
Under the revised schedule, licensing offices will now remain open from 8:00 am until midnight. Officials said the extended hours will make it easier for citizens to access driving license services.
The new timings apply to all licensing facilities operating in Lahore. The city currently has 12 licensing testing centers and 33 license facilitation centers. These offices provide services related to driving licenses and official documentation.
The announcement was made by Syed Abdul Rahim Sherazi, the newly appointed Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) of Lahore. He shared the update during a high-level meeting focused on reviewing licensing office performance.
The meeting included DSP Licensing officials, heads of licensing centers, and other administrative staff. During the session, authorities discussed ways to improve efficiency and service delivery for the public.
Officials said the new timings were introduced after reviewing public demand and operational challenges. Long queues and crowded waiting areas had become a major concern for citizens visiting the offices.
The extended hours are expected to provide more flexibility for applicants. People who cannot visit during regular office hours may now access services in the evening as well.
Authorities believe the new timings will help reduce rush during peak hours. They also expect faster processing of driving license applications and related services.
The CTO emphasized the importance of public convenience and efficient management. He stated that improving licensing services remains a priority for the traffic police department.
Citizens have welcomed the announcement, saying the updated schedule will save time and reduce waiting periods. Many applicants previously faced difficulties due to limited office hours.
The implementation of new timings is now effective across all licensing offices in Lahore. Traffic police officials said they will continue monitoring the system to ensure smooth operations and better public service.
The move reflects broader efforts to modernize traffic management and improve access to essential services in the provincial capital.
