Advance bookings for some rooftops in the city are reportedly reaching hundreds of thousands of rupees. The rising demand has been particularly noticeable in parts of the Walled City.

Residents have started looking for suitable rooftops to celebrate the festival. Some citizens have reportedly paid large amounts to secure rooftop spaces in advance.

Families have also been visiting different locations before making their bookings. The increased interest has created more activity among rooftop owners across the city.

Several rooftop owners have started repairing damaged structures. They are preparing their properties for increased demand during the festival period.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved a 10-day Basant festival in Lahore.

The festival will take place from January 29 to February 7, 2027. The schedule includes a one-day break on February 5.

The break will be observed in connection with Kashmir Day.

The newly announced schedule replaces an earlier three-day festival plan. The previous schedule had proposed celebrations from March 12 to March 14, 2027.

The extended festival period has prompted residents and businesses to begin preparations early.

The Punjab government has directed relevant departments to make arrangements ahead of the celebrations.

Authorities have also been asked to strengthen public safety and improve facilities for citizens.

The longer duration is expected to require additional planning across different parts of Lahore.

Officials will need to coordinate arrangements related to public convenience and safety during the event.

The government has also urged citizens to celebrate responsibly. People have been advised to follow all applicable safety regulations.

The announcement has already affected the demand for rooftop spaces in Lahore. Residents are reportedly trying to secure locations before prices increase further.

Rooftops have traditionally attracted residents seeking open spaces for festival celebrations. The latest announcement has renewed interest in such locations.

The upcoming Basant festival will cover a longer period than the earlier proposal.

The Punjab government is now preparing for celebrations scheduled for early 2027. Authorities have been directed to complete necessary arrangements well in advance.

Citizens planning to participate in Basant have also been asked to follow official instructions.
