LAHORE: Police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a schoolgirl in Lahore’s Kahna area.
The Man arrested in the case has been identified as Kashmail. Police said he allegedly targeted the schoolgirl after developing a friendship with her.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran took notice of the incident. He directed officers to arrest the suspect as soon as possible.
According to SP Asad Ali, the suspect allegedly became acquainted with the schoolgirl. He reportedly took photographs with her during their interaction.
Police said the suspect later used those photographs to allegedly blackmail the girl. He allegedly threatened her and subjected her to sexual assault.
SP Model Town said the incident happened after the girl left her home for school. The suspect allegedly contacted her and used the photographs to threaten her.
Police said he allegedly took the girl to a house on Shehzada Road. The alleged assault reportedly took place at the location.
Following the incident, police registered a case against the suspect. Officers then handed Kashmail over to the Gender Cell for further investigation.
The investigation will focus on the allegations and circumstances surrounding the incident. Police will also examine the evidence collected during the case.
The Man arrested in the case will face further legal proceedings as the investigation continues. Police said all relevant aspects of the case are being examined.
Authorities have emphasized their commitment to protecting women and children from exploitation. Police also warned that those involved in such crimes would face legal action.
