The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration wing took action at Jinnah International Airport Karachi. A passenger traveling to Sri Lanka was stopped during clearance checks.
Officials confirmed that a Man offloaded from the flight after suspicious material was found in his mobile phone. The case is now under further investigation by relevant authorities.
According to the FIA spokesperson, the passenger was identified as Nadeem Abbas from Gujranwala. During initial screening, he was found to have questionable travel history. He had previously attempted to reach Europe through Iran in 2019.
Reports state he was later arrested by Greek authorities and sent back to Turkey. In 2022, the same individual was also deported from the Maldives after another travel attempt.
During detailed checking at Karachi Airport, a Man offloaded after officials examined his mobile phone. The device reportedly contained material linked to political asylum applications and sensitive personal content related to Australia.
Authorities further stated that the passenger allegedly admitted to paying Rs4 million to an Australian citizen named Steven Christopher. The payment was reportedly linked to personal arrangements discussed between the two.
The suspect also claimed that the Australian national had visited Pakistan in April 2026. He further alleged that both had reached an agreement involving a personal relationship arrangement.
Following initial questioning, FIA officials decided to take immediate action. The Man offloaded was then handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) in Karachi for further legal proceedings.
Officials said the investigation is still ongoing. They are reviewing digital evidence and travel history to determine the full scope of the case.
The FIA stated that strict monitoring is in place at airports to prevent suspicious travel activity. Officers continue to screen passengers carefully to ensure compliance with immigration laws.
Authorities emphasized that any violation of travel or documentation rules will face legal action. More details are expected as the investigation progresses.
