Investigators have reviewed Mir Raza Ali’s movements on the night of July 28. They have also examined his meetings and contacts during that period.
Sources said investigators obtained details of his final phone calls. They also reviewed messages received by Mir Raza shortly before his death.
Officials have decided to question people who contacted Mir Raza during his final hours. Their statements may help investigators understand his last known activities.
According to the investigation, Mir Raza spoke to two people during three calls. The calls took place during the early hours of July 28.
Investigators said Mir Raza spoke with a person named Ali at 2:13am. He contacted the same person again at 2:16am.
His final phone call was reportedly from his friend Abdullah. The conversation lasted for more than three minutes.
Investigators have also examined Mir Raza’s final messages. He received eight messages between 4:20am and 4:22am.
Sources said Mir Raza did not respond to any of those messages. Investigators are now examining the circumstances surrounding the messages.
Police are also reviewing his movements and communication records. These details could help establish his final known activities.
The information is being examined as part of the wider Mir Raza Ali case investigation. Officials are seeking to determine what happened before his death.
New Investigation Committee to Review Case
Earlier, authorities formed a new committee to investigate the Mir Raza Ali case. The committee is scheduled to hold its first meeting on August 10.
DIG Amir Farooqi will chair the meeting. The team will conduct a detailed and impartial review of the murder investigation.
The committee will identify and preserve any new evidence. It will also examine evidence already collected during the investigation.
Investigators will review physical, technical and forensic evidence. They will also assess circumstantial evidence linked to the case.
The committee has been directed to take all necessary steps. Its objective is to make progress toward solving the murder.
The team will submit its findings to the relevant court within the assigned timeframe. Police officials may also be added to the team if required.
Authorities have further directed the committee to submit daily progress reports. The reports will help monitor developments in the investigation.
