KARACHI: The investigation into the Mir Raza Ali murder case has officially been transferred to a Joint Investigation Team (JIT). The team, headed by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Irfan Baloch, will conduct further investigations into the case.

The development marks another step in the investigation into the death of the 25-year-old businessman and university graduate.

Investigation Records Transferred to JIT

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Siraj Lashari confirmed that all relevant case records had been handed over to the JIT.

The transferred documents include investigation records and other material collected during the earlier proceedings.

According to DSP Lashari, the previous investigation team has formally transferred responsibility to the newly formed body.

He also confirmed that a JIT representative would appear before the court to provide updates on the investigation.

The joint team will now examine the available evidence and oversee further proceedings.

Background of the Murder Case

Mir Raza Ali, a 25-year-old businessman and Institute of Business Administration (IBA) graduate, disappeared on July 28.

He reportedly went missing after leaving his residence in Karachi’s PECHS area.

A day later, his body was discovered in bushes in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Authorities reported that the body had gunshot wounds.

The discovery raised serious concerns and prompted an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

NCCIA Changes Representative Following Father’s Request

Earlier, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) appointed Deputy Director Shehzad Akbar as its representative on the JIT.

The appointment followed objections raised by the victim’s father, Mir Hussain, regarding the agency’s previous nomination.

In a video statement, Mir Hussain thanked the Sindh government for establishing the joint investigation team.

However, he expressed concerns over the initial nomination of NCCIA officer Arslan Manzoor.

Mir Hussain acknowledged Manzoor’s professional abilities but requested that another officer be appointed.

He claimed the officer had already investigated the case for two months and had pursued a suicide theory.

The victim’s father argued that an officer without previous involvement could provide a fresh perspective.

Following his request, the NCCIA nominated Deputy Director Shehzad Akbar to represent the agency.

JIT to Continue Investigation

The JIT, led by DIG Irfan Baloch, will now review the transferred records and continue the investigation.
