New Airline Set to Connect Smaller Pakistani Cities by 2025

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced the launch of a private airline dedicated to serving smaller cities in Pakistan, a move expected to improve regional connectivity and air travel accessibility. According to DG Nader Shafi, the new service will begin in the second quarter of 2025, offering flights to cities like Sukkur, Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, and Gwadar.

The initiative aims to connect primary and secondary airports, making travel easier for citizens in these regions. The airline will start with at least three small aircraft, each accommodating 40 to 50 passengers, to meet the significant demand for regional travel.

With approximately 30 million passengers currently relying on buses, trains, and other vehicles for travel between the northern and southern parts of the country, Shafi believes these air services will be a valuable alternative. The new airline also plans to offer competitive fares, providing a faster and more comfortable travel option.

Shafi expressed optimism that the new routes will not only enhance connectivity but also boost local economies, bringing significant benefits to residents of smaller cities.
