Pak vs Ban Test Series Trophy Revealed in Islamabad

The trophy for the upcoming Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh was unveiled in Islamabad on Tuesday. Pakistan captain Shan Masood and his Bangladeshi counterpart Najmul Hossain Shanto revealed the trophy at Daman-e-Koh. The two-match Test series will begin at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, with the second match scheduled at the same venue from August 30 to September 3.

Pakistan, currently ranked sixth in the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25, have had a mixed performance so far, with a 2-0 series win against Sri Lanka and a 3-0 loss to Australia. This season is Pakistan’s busiest in Test cricket since 1998-99, featuring nine Test matches, seven of which will be played at home against teams including Bangladesh, England, and the West Indies. The remaining two Tests are away games against South Africa.

The first Test against Bangladesh also marks the debut of Pakistan’s red-ball head coach Jason Gillespie in international cricket since his appointment in April, and it’s Shan Masood’s first Test as captain on home soil, signaling a new chapter for the team.

The Pakistan squad for the series includes key players like Abdullah Shafique, Babar Azam, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, while Bangladesh will field a strong team led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, featuring experienced players like Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim.
