Pakistan has formally dismissed comments made by the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the ongoing political tensions between the government and the opposition in Pakistan. Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch characterized these remarks as “unprofessional” and “unacceptable interference” in Pakistan’s internal affairs.
Baloch asserted that Pakistan firmly rejects the Afghan government’s statements, labeling them as inappropriate. She urged Afghanistan to focus on addressing its own pressing domestic issues, particularly the rights of women and girls to education.

The spokesperson reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to peace, dialogue, and cooperation in the region, expecting all nations, including Afghanistan, to adhere to responsible international conduct and the fundamental principles of inter-state relations.
The Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs had previously indicated that the escalating tensions between the Pakistani government and the opposition party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), could pose a risk to regional stability.
