ISLAMABAD: Households across Pakistan will remain Without Gas for 16 hours daily under new winter supply schedules announced by major gas companies.
Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) have introduced limited gas supply timings for domestic consumers.
The new arrangements allow households to receive natural gas for eight hours daily during three designated cooking periods.
Both companies have implemented the schedules following directives from the federal government. The measures aim to manage gas availability during the winter season.
According to the announced schedule, natural gas will be supplied from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. for breakfast preparation.
The second supply period will begin at 12:00 p.m. and continue until 2:30 p.m., covering lunchtime cooking needs.
The final supply window will operate from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., allowing households to prepare evening meals.
These three periods provide a combined eight hours of scheduled gas supply each day.
For the remaining 16 hours, domestic consumers should not expect regular natural gas availability under the announced arrangements.
The restrictions mean many households will remain Without Gas outside the designated morning, afternoon and evening supply periods.
SNGPL has introduced the schedule for consumers in Islamabad, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Meanwhile, SSGC has announced identical timings for households across Sindh and Balochistan.
An SSGC spokesperson confirmed that the revised schedule took effect immediately. The company also published the updated timings through its official website and social media platforms.
According to SSGC, the schedule prioritizes domestic consumers during breakfast, lunch and dinner preparation hours.
The company aims to distribute available gas supplies according to household cooking requirements during the colder months.
SNGPL implemented its revised winter schedule on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
The company cited declining liquefied natural gas (LNG) availability and increasing seasonal demand as major reasons behind the restrictions.
Natural gas consumption generally increases during winter as households use additional supplies for heating and other domestic activities.
The higher demand can place additional pressure on the country’s existing gas distribution system.
To manage the situation, SNGPL has also reduced natural gas supplies to the compressed natural gas (CNG) sector.
The company warned that further restrictions could become necessary depending on gas availability and demand.
The revised arrangements are expected to affect households that depend on natural gas for cooking and other daily activities.
Consumers may need to adjust their cooking routines according to the announced supply periods.
Families preparing meals outside the designated timings could experience difficulties due to limited gas availability.
The schedule applies to domestic consumers across all four provinces and Islamabad.
Both gas utilities have introduced the same daily supply windows to manage available resources during winter.
Authorities have not announced when normal gas supply arrangements will resume.
For now, households across Pakistan will continue receiving gas during the three scheduled periods.
