Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, the president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a former chief minister of the Punjab, was detained by anti-corruption police on Thursday near his Lahore home.
Elahi was “trying to flee” when he was apprehended close to his home on Zahoor Elahi Road, according to caretaker information minister Amir Mir, who also verified that Elahi was in his car at the time.
He was detained on the Zahoor Elahi road, that is true. His attempt to run resulted in his detention, the provincial information minister informed a niche news network.
