Peshawar has opened a dedicated vaccination center for residents preparing to travel to Saudi Arabia for Umrah.
The facility has been established at the Civil Surgeon’s Office. It aims to make the vaccination process easier for intending pilgrims.
According to focal person Ghulam Murtaza Shah, vaccination will become mandatory for Umrah pilgrims from Peshawar starting October 15.
Pilgrims will be allowed to travel without vaccination until October 14. After that date, the vaccination requirement will apply to travelers preparing for Umrah.
Authorities have arranged multiple counters at the center to manage the expected number of visitors. The facility has 20 vaccination counters for both male and female pilgrims.
The separate counters are intended to improve the process for people seeking vaccination before their Saudi Arabia travel.
Officials are also working to establish two NADRA facilitation centers at the same location. These facilities will provide relevant NADRA services to pilgrims.
The additional services are expected to help visitors complete necessary administrative tasks during their visit. This could reduce the need for pilgrims to visit separate offices.
Ghulam Murtaza Shah advised residents to plan their vaccination well before their travel date. He recommended completing the vaccination process at least 10 days before departure.
The advice is aimed at helping travelers complete the required formalities before leaving for Saudi Arabia.
