The federal government has announced another increase in Petrol prices, adding further pressure on households already dealing with high living costs. The revised fuel prices came into effect on July 11, 2026, following a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division).
According to the official notification, the ex-depot price of Petrol has been raised by Rs13.18 per litre. After the latest increase, the new price of Petrol stands at Rs310.71 per litre.
The government has also increased the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs13.80 per litre. The new ex-depot price of high-speed diesel is now Rs323.30 per litre.
The revised fuel prices will remain effective until the next official review. Fuel prices in Pakistan are generally reviewed every two weeks, depending on changes in global oil prices, exchange rates, and other economic factors.
The latest increase comes at a time when many families are already struggling with rising inflation. Higher fuel prices often affect transportation costs, which can also lead to increased prices for goods and essential services. Businesses that depend on transport may also experience higher operating costs.
For daily commuters, the new Petrol price means spending more on travel. People who use private vehicles, motorcycles, or commercial transport are expected to feel the immediate impact of the increase.
High-speed diesel is widely used in heavy transport vehicles, buses, trucks, agricultural machinery, and industrial equipment. An increase in diesel prices can influence freight charges and the overall cost of moving goods across the country.
The Ministry of Energy stated that the revised ex-depot prices are effective from July 11, 2026. The adjustment follows the government’s regular fuel pricing mechanism, which considers international petroleum market trends and other relevant economic factors.
The latest fuel price revision adds to the financial challenges facing consumers. With Petrol and diesel becoming more expensive, many citizens are expected to adjust their monthly budgets to manage higher transportation expenses.
