Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a major reduction in ticket prices for passengers traveling between Faisalabad and Karachi. The airline has lowered fares by up to 40 percent for a limited period, offering welcome relief to domestic travelers looking for more affordable flights.
The discounted offer is aimed at passengers flying between two of Pakistan’s busiest cities. Business travelers, families, students, and other regular commuters are expected to benefit from the reduced fares during the promotional period.
Under the revised pricing, the one-way ticket now costs Rs16,781. Previously, passengers were paying nearly Rs20,000 for the same journey. The round-trip fare has also been reduced. Travelers can now book return tickets for Rs33,742 instead of nearly Rs38,000.
According to PIA, the special fares will remain available until July 30. The discount applies only to round-trip bookings on flights operating every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Passengers planning to travel on these days can take advantage of the lower prices while the promotion remains active.
The airline hopes the offer will encourage more people to choose air travel between Faisalabad and Karachi. The reduced fares are expected to make flying a more attractive option compared to other modes of transport, especially for those who travel frequently for work or family commitments.
The latest announcement comes shortly after a major milestone in the airline’s restructuring process. Earlier this month, the Privatisation Commission completed the transfer of management control of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIACL) to a consortium led by Arif Habib Corporation. The move officially marked the completion of the airline’s privatisation process.
The transfer followed the successful completion of all requirements under the Share Purchase and Subscription Agreement (SPSA), which was signed on January 29, 2026. As part of the new management structure, Lt Gen (retd) Anwar Ali Haider, the Managing Director of Fauji Foundation, has been appointed chairman of the newly privatised airline.
The privatisation process involved meeting 40 separate regulatory, financial, commercial, and governance conditions. These included approvals from local and international regulators, agreements with key business partners, and reforms related to taxation, aviation policies, aircraft financing, and airport infrastructure.
Industry observers believe the lower fares announced by PIA reflect an effort to attract more passengers while improving customer confidence after the airline’s ownership transition. If the promotional campaign receives a positive response, similar fare offers could be introduced on additional domestic routes in the future.

For now, passengers planning to travel between Faisalabad and Karachi before July 30 have an opportunity to benefit from the temporary fare reduction offered by PIA. The limited-time discount provides a chance to save on travel costs while enjoying faster and more convenient domestic flights.
