PTI leader Parvez Elahi was released from Kot Lakhpat Jail on Tuesday night following the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) decision to grant him bail. This decision was made by LHC Justice Sultan Tanvir Ahmed, who accepted Elahi’s bail petition and ordered his release. The court’s order highlighted that further investigation into Elahi’s alleged involvement in illegal appointments during his tenure as the chief minister of Punjab was required. As a result, bail was granted under the condition of posting Rs500,000 and providing two sureties of the same amount.
After his release, Elahi returned to the Zahoor Elahi Palace. Expressing his relief and gratitude on his official X account, Elahi thanked God, the judiciary, and his supporters for standing by him during this challenging period. He condemned the suffering experienced by the people of Gujarat and claimed their mandate had been stolen.
