ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has called for unconditional talks with the government.

His statement came after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered dialogue to the party. The prime minister linked the offer to ending the ongoing long march towards Islamabad.

Speaking to reporters at Parliament House, Gohar said negotiations should continue without conditions. He also said dialogue should not stop if the march reaches Islamabad.

The PTI chairman said there should be no interruption in the negotiation process. He stressed that both sides should continue talks until a solution is reached.

PTI Long March to Continue

Gohar was asked whether the long march would reach Islamabad. He said there was no reason for the march to stop.

He said the march would move from Peshawar towards Khyber. It would then travel from Khyber to Pir Wadhai in Rawalpindi.

According to Gohar, people from different parts of Pakistan would join the march. He specifically mentioned participants coming from Jamrud and other areas.

The PTI chairman was also asked when he would join the march. He said he could leave for the container the following day.

He also indicated that he might travel to Peshawar first. Gohar said he would join the march from wherever the party instructed him.

The march is expected to reach Islamabad around October 11 or 12. Gohar said there was still time for negotiations before then.

Gohar Calls for Unconditional Dialogue

Gohar said Prime Minister Shehbaz had offered talks with a condition attached. He said the PTI had already formed its negotiating committee before the government made the offer.

He urged the government not to impose conditions on the talks. According to Gohar, dialogue should continue regardless of the political situation.

He said negotiations should remain open until both sides reach a solution. He compared the process with a situation where no fixed deadline should be imposed.

Gohar also announced plans to meet Awami National Party leader Aimal Wali Khan. He said he would invite him to participate in an All Parties Conference.

Gohar Raises Concern Over KP Situation

The PTI chairman also commented on the political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He described the situation in the province as serious.

Gohar said the province could not afford unconstitutional or illegal measures. He called for political issues to be addressed through legal and constitutional channels.

He also opposed the imposition of Governor’s Rule or an emergency in the province. He urged all sides to resolve the situation through dialogue.

Meanwhile, the government has called for an end to the protest. The PTI leadership has maintained that talks should continue without preconditions.
