In an effort to alleviate the burden of inflation on the people, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz announced a reduction in the price of roti across the province.
Through her official announcement on X (formerly Twitter), the first female chief minister disclosed that the Punjab government has set the price of roti (a type of flatbread made in a tandoor) at Rs16.

This adjustment in roti prices will be implemented immediately, according to Maryam Nawaz. She also directed all relevant district and departmental authorities to ensure strict enforcement of the decision.
Subsequently, the District Commissioner (DC) of Lahore issued a notification regarding the reduction in roti prices. According to the notification, the price of a 100-gram roti has been fixed at Rs16, while a 120-gram roti will now be available for Rs20.
