Although the police stated that initial investigations did not find evidence of sexual assault, a case has been filed against the suspect under harassment laws.
The hospital’s CCTV footage is being reviewed. The girl’s mother reportedly did not wish to pursue legal action, and the suspect’s arrest and investigation are ongoing.
The incident prompted protests by female doctors and paramedics outside the hospital, demanding justice and better safety measures. Protesters also blocked traffic, which was later cleared.
In response, Professor Khalid Masood Gondal, Vice Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, organized a meeting to address the concerns of students and staff, promising to consider their demands.
