The Lahore Deputy Commissioner has responded to the Lahore High Court (LHC) regarding the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) request to hold a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on August 14, informing that the request has been denied.
The Deputy Commissionerβs lawyer stated that August 14 is Independence Day, a time when citizens traditionally visit Minar-e-Pakistan to celebrate.

The Deputy Commissioner of Lahore indicated that due to law and order concerns, PTIβs rally cannot be permitted.
LHC Justice Muzamil Akhtar Shabbir reviewed Akmal Khanβs application. Previously, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon also rejected PTIβs request to hold a gathering in the capital, citing several reasons for the denial.
