In a distressing incident in Bahawalnagar, Punjab, a woman named Shumaila Bibi was tortured to death by her husband and in-laws after giving birth to a daughter.
The violence occurred in the Khadam area, where Shumaila, a resident of Kot Radha Kishan, had married Nauman from Khadam Abad Colony. Despite having two sons and four daughters, Shumaila faced relentless abuse for not providing dowry and for having daughters.

Following a complaint from Shumaila’s brother, the police filed a case and arrested her husband. The victim’s body has been sent to the District Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
In a similar case from Rahim Yar Khan, a man named Fayyaz Ahmed divorced his wife, Amna Bibi, after she gave birth to five daughters over fifteen years. Fayyaz ceased supporting his family, leading Amna to set up a Biryani stall to support her daughters despite the hardships.
