RAWALPINDI: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed in Rawalpindi’s Dhok Naju area. Police have identified a relative as the main murder suspect in the case.
The incident took place in the Khayaban-e-Sir Syed area. The victim was a seventh-grade student named Maimona, according to police.
Her family reported her missing after she left home for a seminary. She reportedly left for the seminary at around 2:00 PM.
The family later registered a First Information Report (FIR) for kidnapping. The FIR was registered on Tuesday night after the girl could not be located.
Police later recovered the girl’s body from a nearby house. The house reportedly belonged to the relative who has been identified as the main murder suspect.
Following the recovery, police reached the location and secured the scene. Investigators collected evidence and other important clues from the house.
The victim’s body was later shifted to a nearby hospital. Doctors conducted a post-mortem examination as part of the investigation.
According to police, the suspect fled from the area after the incident. Authorities have launched raids to locate and arrest him.
Police said several aspects of the case are being examined. Investigators are also working to establish the circumstances surrounding the girl’s death.
CPO Orders Immediate Arrest
City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera took notice of the incident. He sought a detailed report from the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).
The CPO also directed police officials to arrest the suspect immediately. He instructed investigators to ensure a thorough investigation into the case.
Police officials said evidence collected from the crime scene would be examined. The investigation will also focus on establishing the events leading to the girl’s death.
Authorities have assured the victim’s family that the case will be investigated thoroughly. Police also said legal action would follow based on the investigation.
The murder suspect remains at large, while police teams continue efforts to trace him. Authorities have vowed to bring the accused before the law.
