RDA Cracks Down on 16 Illegal Housing Schemes in Rawalpindi

The district administration, local police, and the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) successfully conducted an operation against 16 illegal housing schemes in various areas of Rawalpindi.

These schemes included names like Hoon Farm, Theme Park, Green Hawks/Flaura Farms, Atlantic City, and others. The operation involved the demolition of key infrastructure elements belonging to these unauthorized schemes, such as main entrances, guard rooms, boundary walls, dividers, and road infrastructure.

This action was prompted by public complaints and aimed to curb fraudulent activities associated with illegal housing schemes that exploit citizens. Saif Anwar Jappa, the RDA Director General (DG), emphasized the importance of investing only in approved housing schemes and warned against illegal ones. Owners who had completed the necessary documentation were given land possession rights, but those operating illegal schemes faced strict consequences.

Notably, notices had been issued to the owners and sponsors of these illegal housing schemes, and FIRs had been filed to halt illegal advertisements, bookings, and development. Some owners had even set up illegal booking offices, violating regulations and further emphasizing the need for vigilance among potential property buyers.
