Shehroze Kashif Becomes Youngest Pakistani to Conquer All 14 Peaks

Pakistani mountaineer Shehroze Kashif has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the youngest individual from Pakistan to summit all 14 of the world’s highest peaks, each exceeding 8,000 meters. At just 21 years old, Shehroze reached the summit of his final peak, marking a significant achievement in his climbing career.

He is now the second Pakistani, following climber Sirbaz Khan, to complete the challenge of climbing all 14 “eight-thousanders.” Sirbaz Khan accomplished this feat just last week by summiting Shishapangma, China’s highest mountain.

Shehroze Kashif mountaineering journey began in 2019 when he was only 17, starting with the 8,047-meter Broad Peak in Pakistan, which earned him recognition in the global climbing community. In 2021, he successfully scaled Mount Everest, K2, and Manaslu, further showcasing his talent.

The following year, he summited Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum I, and Gasherbrum II, establishing himself as a leading young climber. In 2023, he climbed Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Cho Oyu, but an accident prevented him from summiting Shishapangma last year.

Despite this setback, Shehroze’s determination led him to eventually conquer Shishapangma, completing his remarkable record. Had he summited Shishapangma earlier, he would have set the world record for the youngest person to climb all 14 peaks. Nonetheless, his achievement stands as a significant moment in mountaineering history.

Sirbaz Khan Makes History as the First Pakistani to Summit All 14 Highest Peaks

Earlier this month, Sirbaz Khan achieved a historic milestone in his mountaineering journey, which began in 2017 when he aimed to conquer the world’s 14 highest peaks. His first ascent was the challenging Nanga Parbat, reaching 8,126 meters, a successful climb that ignited his passion for high-altitude climbing and marked the start of his ambitious quest to tackle some of the most formidable mountains on Earth.

Over the next few years, Khan showcased exceptional skill and determination while overcoming numerous challenges. In July 2018, he reached the summit of K2, solidifying his reputation as a leading mountaineer. He continued to break barriers in 2019 when he became the first Pakistani to ascend Lhotse, the world’s fourth-highest peak. That same year, he also summited Broad Peak without supplementary oxygen, demonstrating incredible physical endurance.

In subsequent years, Khan’s resilience was evident as he conquered Annapurna in April 2021 and Mount Everest just a month later. He further cemented his legacy in high-altitude mountaineering by successfully leading an all-Pakistani team to Gasherbrum II. His remarkable achievements not only highlighted his commitment to the sport but also raised the profile of Pakistani climbers on the international stage.

Khan’s dedication to climbing the highest peaks inspired many aspiring mountaineers in Pakistan and beyond. With his successful ascent of Shishapangma in October 2024, he not only made his mark in mountaineering history but also demonstrated that perseverance and hard work can lead to conquering even the highest mountains. His journey stands as a testament to the spirit of adventure and the relentless pursuit of excellence in the face of adversity.
