Sindh government has decided to convert its employment initiative, “I Work for Sindh,” into a permanent government programme. The move aims to strengthen job opportunities for young people and improve the connection between employers and job seekers through a modern digital platform.
The decision was made during an important meeting of the Information Department. The meeting was chaired by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. Officials discussed a detailed plan to make the platform more effective, better integrated, and supported by modern technology.
According to Sharjeel Memon, the Sindh government wants to expand the programme so it can serve more people across the province. He said the platform has already become an important digital bridge between companies looking for employees and individuals searching for jobs.
The meeting also focused on improving access to employment opportunities in both the public and private sectors. Officials agreed that the platform should continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of employers and job seekers.
Sharjeel Memon shared several key statistics that highlight the platform’s performance. He said more than 4.8 million people have visited the “I Work for Sindh” portal since its launch. The growing number of visitors reflects increasing public interest in digital employment services.
He further revealed that over 113,000 job seekers have registered on the platform. At the same time, 670 companies have also signed up to recruit candidates through the portal. This growing participation from businesses is expected to create more employment opportunities in the future.
Currently, the portal features around 11,100 active job vacancies. In total, more than 20,800 jobs have been posted on the platform since it was launched. Officials believe these figures show the programme is becoming an important employment resource for people across Sindh.
The minister also said that job seekers have submitted more than 419,000 applications through the portal. This demonstrates strong public engagement and highlights the increasing use of digital platforms for finding employment.
As part of the next phase, the government plans to introduce a professional career counseling service. Industry experts will conduct live career counseling sessions to help young people make informed career choices. Participants will receive guidance on career planning, job selection, and professional development.
Officials believe these services will help improve the skills and confidence of job seekers before they enter the workforce. Career counseling is expected to support graduates and young professionals looking to build successful careers.
