Students Get Five-Day Break Amid SCO Summit Preparations

Great news for students! Educational institutions will be closed from October 12 to October 16, giving them a five-day break. This closure is part of the federal government’s preparations for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Islamabad.

In the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, residents will enjoy three holidays from October 14 to October 16. With schools closed on Saturday and Sunday (October 12 and 13), students will have an extended long weekend.

The SCO summit, taking place on October 15 and 16, will host various heads of state and their representatives. To ensure security during the summit, the military has been deployed in Islamabad under Article 245 and will remain in place until October 17.

Notably, Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar is also scheduled to visit Pakistan for the SCO summit, marking his first trip to the country on October 15.
