A Terrorist accused of killing three young cricket players was killed during an operation in Lakki Marwat, police said.
The joint operation was carried out by police and the Counter Terrorism Department in Abdul Khel village.
Police identified the suspect as Manzoor. Authorities alleged that he was involved in several serious terrorism cases.
According to police, security personnel launched the operation following an attack on young cricket players in the area.
An exchange of fire took place during the operation. Police said Manzoor was killed during the encounter.
Lakki Marwat District Police Officer Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada confirmed the development.
He said police had taken custody of the suspect’s body following the operation.
Terrorist Wanted in Seven Cases
According to the DPO, Manzoor was wanted by the CTD Bannu Division in seven terrorism cases.
Police also accused him of involvement in the attack that killed three young cricket players.
The operation continued for several hours in Abdul Khel.
Afterwards, the CTD began a wider search operation in the surrounding area.
Authorities said the operation was aimed at locating and arresting other suspected militants.
Security personnel continued searches following the encounter.
Three Cricket Players Killed in Attack
Police said the deadly attack took place in the Abdul Khel area the previous evening.
The young players were reportedly travelling back from Shah Hassan Khel in a rickshaw.
They came under attack while returning from the area, according to police.
Three young cricket players were killed in the incident. Three other people were injured.
The incident prompted police and CTD personnel to increase security activity in the area.
Police later conducted the joint operation that resulted in Manzoor’s death.
Officials described the deceased Terrorist as a wanted suspect in multiple cases.
However, investigations into the cricket players’ killings are continuing.
The CTD has registered a case related to the attack.
Investigators are working to establish further details and identify other suspects who may have been involved.
Search operations are also continuing in parts of Lakki Marwat.
Authorities have not yet announced further arrests linked to the incident.
